With so much conflicting advice available about dog behaviour and training, it can be really difficult for caregivers to decipher which is good advice and what could make your dog’s behaviour even worse. When it comes to behaviour modification, we take a holistic approach and consider your individual dog rather than taking a ‘one size fits all’ approach. As an Accredited and Certified Dog Behaviourist I will carefully assess your dog’s behaviour based on the information you provide, my own observations and our discussion during the consultation process. We will explore underlying reasons for your dog’s behaviour, with a focus on emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. From there, we will create practical, tailored exercises to help your dog progress so we can create positive and lasting behaviour changes.

Many Behaviour Consultations take place at home, where your dog feels most relaxed. However, I also offer consultations at my private, enclosed paddock which is ideal for practical work and dogs who need space. If your dog finds in-person sessions difficult, or you live further away, I also offer online consultations with the same level of care and guidance.

Before the consultation you will be asked to complete a Behaviour Questionnaire in advance. This will help me to understand your dog’s background and make the most of our time together.

If your dog’s behaviour has recently changed or worsened it is advisable to arrange a vet check to rule out any underlying medical issues contributing towards the behaviour.

Behaviour support is often covered by pet insurance. If your dog is insured, it is worth checking with your provider whether sessions with a Certified Behaviourist are included in your policy.
